I sort of had a date in my head that I was sure this baby would be here by. Well, that day has come and gone. I'm thinking that we're really going to go the distance with this one. The thing is, is that I KNOW if I wasn't delivering at a military hospital under military care, I'd have some say in the matter, but here they are SUPER STRICT about inductions - they won't do 'em unless there is a real medical need. Wouldn't you say that extreme emotional deress and physical pain constitutes a medical need? Whatever.
Yesterday we spent a few hours shopping and afterward I started contracting regularily. First 6-7 minutes apart, then for a good solid 3 hours they were 3-5 minutes apart and STRONG! James was post call so I made him go lie down and rest while I got the bags ready and called our neighbors to see if we could drop off the kids. Well, after doing so I was exhausted and REALLY in pain, so I sat down to rest. They stopped. The contractions just stopped! I was depressed. I'm still depressed, but only really b/c I was so excited that I was finally going to see my daughter. I know it's soon. I'm adopting the recovering alcoholic's creed "One day at a time" and hoping that it is only a matter of a day or two and not weeks! ;)
In other Mathews news, James is starting a new rotation tomorrow that promises to give him much more time here with us and a little bit of flexibility when the baby comes. That is a huge relief especially since he just finished a rotation where he averaged over 100 hours per week. This morning he slept 'til 10:00!!
Thank you for reading my rantings. Here is my solemn vow: I will not post again until I either have lots of cute pictures of a new baby girl, or at least have something uplifting to share. I love you all!

You can rant and rave all you want.. I just like to know how you're doing. I can't wait to see your little girl either :)
I got your message this weekend. My in-law just left tonight, and they came in town on Wednesday. It was fun and very busy. I had to check your blog to make sure you didn't have your baby. Hang in there. I will try and call tomorrow. Love Ya, Kami
The good news is that she can't stay in there forever! I feel so badly for you...I know it seems like it will be forever! Good luck, can't wait to check in and see that sweet new babe!
