Words cant describe how awesome it was! We had a blast and for those of you who made the trip out to be with us, we were overwhelmed with gratitude. Your support and love has always made our goals more attainable, our trials more survivable and our successes more meaningful. We love you. Thank you for sharing that extraordinary day with us.
Our visit with family and friends started in Bear Lake. We swam and hiked, hiked and swam. It was a gorgeous weekend made all the more memorable by family we hadn't seen in several years! We then did our usual Utah errands, visited friends, racked up another bill at Dr Johnson's (our dentist and James' ol' high school buddy), Weeks Berries, Aggie Ice cream, Cafe Sabor, and for James - the mountain biking trails!
The last minutedecision to drive through Yosemite on our way home from Utah was really uncharacteristic for us. For one thing, we usually NEVER have an extra day or two to spare on these trips, and #2, it was SO NOT on our way home. It took us clear out into the strangest and most desolate parts of Nevada - I mean the places where they test nuclear bombs its so remote! And we literally were white knuckled part of the way due to the fact that the road was barely paved and obviously rarely used. We passed only maybe 3 cars coming the other way in about 1.5 hours! We made it to Mammoth Lakes late on a Thursday night. We ate and stayed at a quaint little hotel at the foot of a ski resort. Then the next day did a super-fun hike to horse-shoe lake (elevation 9000 ft). After that we packed up and headed to Yosemite. We did our best to see what we could in ONE DAY, but it really wasn't enough. Yosemite is as majestic as everyone says it is. What an amazing experience! I wish these photos could somehow do the place justice.
If you can believe it, this all these photos were taken on the same day! ONE DAY and we literally saw almost the whole area. Sun-up to sun-down.

Congratulations to all of you! That is such an amazing milestone and I'm glad you were able to celebrate with friends and family. The pictures of your trip are great. I love summertime.
